Love deliciously organic food? Look no further than Beets N Roots in Bristol...

Beets N Roots Bristol

We had the pleasure of recently being introduced to Beets N Roots cafe in Bristol. This cute little hideout full of goodness is located along the cool Cotham hughstreet which is full of unique independent shops, boutiques, salons and places to eat and drink.

Beets N Roots is a vibrant juicery & organic eatery serving delicious, nutritious, high vitality foods and drinks. 'Cool beats, real roots and a perfect sundeck to soak up the rays.' This is the type of place you leave feeling full of goodness and energy with a big smile on your face, maybe even reaching your 5 a day goal. You can see exactly what you are eating and how it is being prepared with the open prepping and cooking station along with the fresh ingredients on show for all to see. You can choose to visit for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. This place has a relaxed and warming atmosphere thanks to the friendly staff and some reggae music playing. Along with food awards they have won the most 'Instagrammable' breakfast in Bristol!

We visited on a cold and rainy sunday morning. We couldn't wait to get inside and get cosy which wasn't hard with snuggle blankets everywhere and the smell of fresh ginger being cooked up. We examined the breakfast menu and didn't know what to pick from all the amazing options. Torn between an intriguing smoothie jar and a hot cooked breakfast we just had to go for the hot option on that cold day, but we will definitely be returning to try more.

The 'big breakfast' was a good choice; it was delicious. Completely vegetarian it was the perfect fit for me. George is a meat eater but will eat vegetarian when we travel for health reasons and often says he now thinks he could become a vegetarian as the food is always so much tastier. The breakfast was made up of your choice of eggs or tofu, beans, kale, tomatoes, mushroom and toast. They have a great gluten free offering which was good for me following a strict gf diet. Gluten free bread can be hit and miss but this was a good one packed full of seeds and goodness. I was so tempted by the amazing range of gf cakes they had but had to stop myself!

George is a bit of a coffee lover so he choose the flat white by Bristol Twenty coffee and I couldn't resist a matcha latte to kick start my day. Matcha is a great natural caffeine boost coming from the green tea plant. I fell in love with it in Thailand where they drink it a lot but since being home nowhere has served that sweet tasting matcha, no one apart from Beets N Roots! Maybe it was the mix of coconut and almond milk they made it with. If I could handle the caffeine I would have drank mugs and mugs of it but I can't so it was just George who went up for more coffee.

We left feeling warmed up and full of organic goodness. I didn't eat again till 7pm where I was so full and felt as though energy from the food kept releasing around my body. Looking forward to returning soon especially on a sunny day to enjoy that cool sundeck.
