Bath city break

When we travelled the world not many people had heard of Bristol, but they had all heard of beautiful Bath! With the city being right on our door step, just a ten minute train ride or twenty five minute drive I guess we have just taken it for granted. We spend a lot of time in Bath and have done over the years for things like; walks, eating out, shopping etc but we have never looked at the city from a tourist’s perspective so when I was invited to the Visit Bath’s #feelgoodbath bloggers trip, I was so excited to attend.

The Roman Baths

The Roman Baths

Bath is one of the top wellness destinations in the world and has been since the Baths were built in 70AD. Beneath the city there are many natural thermal springs and it is home to Britain’s only thermal spa. Alongside the amazing spa history are the stunning Georgian buildings and crescents nestled on the pretty streets.

My overnight wellness break began with dinner at the Italian restaurant; AQUA located on Walcot Street. It has recently been refurbished and the interiors were gorgeous with grand features and pretty private dining areas. The menu had a variety of gluten free and vegetarian options for me.

Bath Boutique Stays

Following dinner, me and the other girls headed back to our apartment for the night which was located in central Bath just a short walk away. Bath Boutique Stays specialise in apartments around the city for small and large groups. We stayed at 1 Hot Bath Street which would be so good for a hen party or any girlie celebrations. The kitchen and living room were gorgeous. We had a chilled night ready for a morning at The Thermae Bath Spa.

Up bright and early we headed to the spa which is again located in central Bath. I would recommend spending a whole morning or afternoon here to fully enjoy all that is has to offer. The highlight for me is of course the thermal outdoor rooftop pool with views of the city.

Following this, with rumbling stomachs we headed to the prettiest little brunch spot; Sweet Little Things. Try and grab yourself a table downstairs where you will be surrounded by artificial flower installations and even a flower swing! The menu has great options for gluten free even offering pancakes which believe me is a rarity.

Before lunch we had time to have a quick roam around the historic Roman Baths located next to the Cathedral. This is a very interesting thing to do and there is so much information there you could spend a good couple of hours taking it all in and transporting back in time.

It was then on to lunch and we were going Indian style at Bandook Kitchen. I have to say this was a highlight of the trip for me. I am a huge lover of authentic Indian food which is hard to come by in the UK but these guys seemed to do it very well. With their small plates it meant no one got that dreaded food envy as we got to try everything plus the majority was gluten free and they had so many vegetarian options. You may or may not know but India is mostly a vegetarian country due to their Hindu beliefs.

Full of deliciousness it was on to the final part of the trip for me over at Good Body Wellness where they specialise in CBD products. It was really interesting to hear lots of useful information on what CBD does and what it is used for along with having a CBD coffee. They have so many beautiful certified products in there and it is such a gorgeous little boutique to go and have a wander in. As soon as I got home that evening, I enjoyed a hot bath with my CBD bath bomb.

I had a great wellness break in Bath and left feeling totally refreshed and with a new outlook on the city. If you are coming from near or far make sure you make the most of what Bath has to offer #feelgoodbath
